Brookeland came tearing into Monday's contest with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 69.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the Leggett Pirates to the tune of 94-54. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Pirates are ranked 1518th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brookeland was led to victory by Cade Morgan and Landon Smith. Morgan dropped a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds, while Smith went 10 of 14 to rack up 24 points and five steals. The match was Smith's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. Zach Beckett was another key player, putting up seven points and eight assists.

Brookeland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in ten consecutive games.

Brookeland's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 98.1 points over those games. As for Leggett, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-20 record this season.
