Baseball Recap: Mattawan Finishes Even with Western International

The Mattawan Wildcats and the Western International Cowboys finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 tie on Saturday.

Liam Walsh spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

With that draw, Mattawan's record moves to 14-3-4. As for Western International, they moved theirs to 14-5-2.

Coincidentally, Mattawan and Western International will both be playing Franklin the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Patriots at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Cowboys will play them later in the day, at 12:30 p.m.
