Recap: Forestview Jaguars vs. Bessemer City Yellow Jackets

The Forestview Jaguars can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-52 win over Bessemer City. The win was just what Forestview needed coming off of a 74-51 loss in their prior game.

Forestview was led to victory by Alex Helton and Josiah Thompson. Helton scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds, while Thompson scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Thompson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dashawn Patton, who scored 11 points along with 5 assists.

Forestview's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 1-4. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Bessemer City, they have fallen quite a ways from their 19-9 record last season and are now at 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forestview will take on Burns at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bessemer City, they will head out on the road to face off against Chase at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Chase focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
