Baseball Game Preview: West Jefferson Panthers vs. Challis Vikings

West Jefferson is 0-10 against Challis since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m.

After dropping their season opener at home, Challis is headed out to face a Panthers team ready to give their home crowd a win. West Jefferson lost 16-1 to Soda Springs on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

Meanwhile, Challis made easy work of Salmon on Tuesday and carried off an 8-2 win.

Brayden Ollar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over 6.1 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Jacen Farr and James Parker did most of the damage at the plate: Farr scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Parker scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits Parker has posted since back in March of 2024. Jayden Shepard was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Challis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
