Basketball Recap: Blacksburg Comes Up Short

Blacksburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by the Woodruff Wolverines 67-34. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 77-35 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2025.

Despite the loss, Blacksburg still got an impressive performance from Jd Bonner, who shot 64% from the field on his way to 20 points and six boards.

Blacksburg's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Woodruff, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Blacksburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-29 defeat against Spartanburg Christian Academy on the 3rd. As for Woodruff, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-50 victory against Mid-Carolina on the 3rd.
