Football Recap: East Coweta Comes Up Short at Home Against Sandy Creek + How To Watch

East Coweta unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 28-21 to the Sandy Creek Patriots on Friday. The matchup was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Indians couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, East Coweta still got an impressive performance from Jax Bowles, who threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 57 yards on only eight carries.

Sandy Creek was led to victory by Amari Latimer and Caleb Hill. Latimer gained 205 total yards and a touchdown, while Hill rushed for 52 yards and a pair of scores. Latimer really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run.

Looking ahead, East Coweta will face off against Newnan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sandy Creek, they will take on McIntosh at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 870 yards in their previous games.
