Hopkinton and Medfield are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Hillers will host the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopkinton is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games.

On Wednesday, Hopkinton needed a bit of extra time to put away Westwood. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Wolverines. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hillers have posted since April 16th.

Meanwhile, Medfield came into Thursday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 14-11 victory over Norwood on Thursday.

Tess Baacke was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Barrett, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Medfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hopkinton pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Medfield, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.

Hopkinton took their victory against Medfield when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Hillers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
