Basketball Recap: Gillett Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Gillett had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 46-38 to the Gresham Community Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 36-30 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Gillett still got an impressive performance from Jedric Herzog, who posted 18 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradyn Wendorff, who had five points and five steals.

The win got Gresham Community back to even at 1-1.

Gillett and Gresham Community will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigers will square off against rival Wausaukee at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Gresham Community is set to face off against their familiar foe Northland Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
