            Deer Valley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 18-run drubbing they dealt Miami on Thursday. Everything went the Deer Valley Skyhawks' way against the Miami Vandals as the Deer Valley Skyhawks made off with  a  20-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Skyhawks, who have now won five contests by seven  runs or more  so far this season.

Deer Valley got a  massive  performance out of  Kyla Decker, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run and six  RBI. Those  six  RBI gave  Decker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Taylor Passalacqua, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Deer Valley was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .519. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
The  win (which was Deer Valley's fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Miami, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
 Deer Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  10-3  victory against Thunderbird on the 20th. As for Miami, they also  didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  14-7  loss against Browne on the 20th.
