Basketball Preview: West Shore Wildcats vs. Odyssey Charter School Titans
The West Shore Wildcats will square off against the Odyssey Charter School Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Shore has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, West Shore turned things around against Melbourne Central Catholic on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Hustlers by a score of 41-32.
West Shore relied on the efforts of Kaelani Luther, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine steals, and Emily Marshall, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Luther has scored at least a third of West Shore's points.
West Shore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.
Meanwhile, Odyssey Charter School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 60-7 loss at the hands of John Carroll Catholic. The matchup marked the Titans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Odyssey Charter School's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for West Shore, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9.
