Glendale barely beat Lynwood the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Nitros blew past the Knights 13-2 on Monday. The Nitros might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Natalie Minkler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Brooke Aldrete was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February. Sevanah Argueta was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Glendale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Glendale moved to 8-8-1 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Lynwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Glendale will take on La Salle at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lynwood, they will face off against Firebaugh at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
