Softball Recap: Athens Drops Highest Score of Season Against Kemp

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Athens). They put the hurt on the Kemp Yellowjackets with a sharp 20-5 win on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Athens' victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Kemp, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Athens will take on Mabank at 6:00 p.m. on March 14th. As for Kemp, they will challenge Brownsboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kemp has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
