Baseball Recap: West Creek Wins Going Away Against Kenwood

While West Creek put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Kenwood. West Creek put the hurt on Kenwood with a sharp 15-0 win. The matchup marked the Coyote's most dominant victory of the season so far.

Donte Castro made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alik George was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Drake, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

West Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for West Creek and bumps their season record up to 4-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Kenwood, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

West Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Kenwood: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
