Baseball Game Preview: Perris Panthers vs. Cornerstone Christian Crusaders

The Perris Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the Cornerstone Christian Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Perris has struggled recently with 14 defeats in a row, while Cornerstone Christian will arrive with ten straight wins.

It was a proper cat-fight when Perris challenged Canyon Springs on Thursday. The Panthers lost 11-0 to the Cougars.

Perris saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Lenning, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Lenning is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out Liberty 3-2.

Cornerstone Christian pushed their record up to 22-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Perris, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.
