Hemet had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Paloma Valley Wildcats by a score of 74-64. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 779th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hemet got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Quinton Skinner out in front who went 8 of 14 en route to 22 points along with seven boards and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kee-Esoul Pitchford, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.

Skinner wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Hemet was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paloma Valley only racked up nine assists.

Despite the loss, Paloma Valley still got an impressive performance from Taeshawn Armstrong, who went 12 for 21 on his way to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Christopher Helms, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Hemet pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Paloma Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Hemet has already played their next matchup, a 77-55 victory against Perris on the 23rd. As for Paloma Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-53 win against California Lutheran on the 22nd.
