Basketball Game Preview: West Panthers vs. Highland Rams

West hasn't had much luck against Highland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The West Panthers will head out to challenge the Highland Rams at 5:15 p.m. West is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season.

West is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Skyline. The contest was a 30-30 toss-up at halftime, but the Panthers couldn't quite close it out.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Phillip Ladua, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elijah Albertson, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Highland entered their tilt with Skyline on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 74-63 win over the Eagles.

West's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

West was taken down by Highland 81-53 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point West was down 48-21.
