Melvindale never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Thurston on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Melvindale is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Thurston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Melvindale will face off against Clarenceville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thurston, they will head out to square off against Lutheran at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
