Helena faced Pell City in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Huskies narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Panthers 7-5. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.

Carrington Schiefer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Henley Traywick was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gracie Storey, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Helena's victory bumped their record up to 21-12-2. As for Pell City, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 19-12.

Helena has already played their next game, a 6-5 win against Chelsea on the 15th. As for Pell City, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-0 victory against Shades Valley on the 15th.
