Softball Recap: Havelock Takes a Loss

If Havelock was feeling good fresh off their 27-0 takedown of Northside - Jacksonville last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams fell 5-1 to the Jacksonville Cardinals on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 back in March.

Carolina Jenkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.

Havelock's record now sits at 1-9. As for Jacksonville, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Havelock will host Swansboro at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jacksonville, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against D.H. Conley at 6:00 p.m.
