The Baldwin Indians will take on the First Coast Buccaneers in a tournament on Tuesday. Baldwin's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Tuesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Friday, Baldwin needed a bit of extra time to put away Ridgeview. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Chase Staley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over 7.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run.
In other batting news, Turner Farah was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Josh Jordan, who went 3-for-5 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while First Coast put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Ribault. The Buccaneers were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Trojans. With that win, the Buccaneers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
Jake Rohn looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Shane Clayton was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because First Coast is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Cam Allen was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
First Coast always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ribault only posted an OBP of .222.
Baldwin's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-10. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.75 runs across that stretch. As for First Coast, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Baldwin suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to First Coast in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Will the Indians have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
