Softball Game Preview: Blue Earth Buccaneers vs. Luverne Cardinals

Blue Earth hasn't had much luck against Luverne recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Buccaneers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Blue Earth is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Fairmont, falling 10-0.

Blue Earth saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Grant, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Sara Wirth also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Luverne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 16-6 to Pipestone.

Luverne now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Blue Earth, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16-1.
