Volleyball Recap: Britton-Hecla Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brynlee Schmieg and Ava Teveldal

It was a good run, but Britton-Hecla unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Roncalli Cavaliers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Braves of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Britton-Hecla was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 25-19.

Britton-Hecla's loss came despite strong showings from Ava Teveldal and Brynlee Schmieg. Teveldal had 22 digs and two assists, while Schmieg had 13 digs and one assist. Teveldal is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.

Britton-Hecla's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Roncalli, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6.

Coming up, Britton-Hecla will head out on the road to take on Groton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Roncalli, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mobridge-Pollock at 7:30 p.m.
