ALA - Ironwood let Antonia Benzor and Emma Gonzales run wild. Benzor got on base in all five of her plate appearances with eight stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI, while Gonzales got on base in all five of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases, five runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Benzor has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Alleyne, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
ALA - Ironwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .816. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin got the win against San Tan Foothills on Monday by a conclusive 21-5. The victory continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with the Sabercats: they've now won eight in a row.
The team relied heavily on Jaelyn Castaneda, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Adlee Trujillo, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one double.
Benjamin Franklin's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for ALA - Ironwood, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. ALA - Ironwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .398. However, it's not like Benjamin Franklin struggles in that department as they've averaged .441. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
