Baseball Recap: Fletcher Comes Up Short

If Fletcher was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Verden on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Granite on Thursday.

Nathan Mahan made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Fletcher has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season.

Fletcher has already played their next game, a 13-11 victory against Sentinel on the 22nd. Hopefully Granite paid attention to Fletcher's contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on Fletcher at 4:30 p.m. on September 5.
