Recap: White County Warriors vs. Gilmer Bobcats
The White County Warriors won the last time they faced the Gilmer Bobcats, and things went their way on Friday too. White County came out on top against Gilmer by a score of 35-28.
White County was led to victory by Tripp Nix and Ryan Fowler. Nix threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes, while Fowler rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Fowler is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. Gaines Clark was in the mix too, providing White County with two touchdowns.
Gilmer's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Issac Rellinger, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown.
White County's victory bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Gilmer, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 6-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. White County will challenge Bremen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gilmer, they will head out on the road to face off against Adairsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Adairsville is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
