Piedra Vista faced Cibola in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Cougars 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Cougars on April 4th, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

The win made it two in a row for Piedra Vista and bumps their season record up to 15-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Cibola, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season.
