A Season-Best Performance from Kleat Martens Leads Hooker over Fairview

Kleat Martens produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Hooker to the win on Thursday. Martens rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 34 yards and a touchdown. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 58 yards.

Martens might have his next game, a road matchup with Merritt, circled on his calendar. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Martens saw the Oilers), he rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 99 yards and two touchdowns.

Justin Palacios Goes Supernova in Hooker Victory

Hooker picked up their sixth consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Justin Palacios. Palacios was unstoppable, rushing for 167 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 88 yards.

If the past is any indication, Palacios could be in store for another big game when he takes on Merritt on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Palacios saw the Oilers), he rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

Estep Made His Presence Known in Watonga's 36-13 Defeat

While Kelan Estep delivered a dominant performance on Thursday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Watonga. Despite the defeat, Estep was still balling out as he threw for 219 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown.

Watonga is on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. Estep and Watonga will challenge Crescent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Another Game with at Least Six Total Tackles from Dayson Cash

Dayson Cash continued his hot streak on Thursday by dropping his 11th-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least six total tackles. He forced a fumble and made 21 total tackles.

This season, Cash has averaged 15.1 total tackles per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 6.29 total tackles per game.

Hooker Wins Sixth-Straight Thanks to Peyton Parker

Peyton Parker was instrumental in extending Hooker's winning streak to six on Thursday. Fairview had no answer to Parker as he rushed for six yards and a touchdown.

This season, Parker has run in 5 touchdowns while averaging 5.3 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had two rushing touchdowns.
