Baseball Recap: Lincoln Southwest Has No Trouble Against Lincoln Southeast

It was a classic East v. West duel when Lincoln Southwest took on Lincoln Southeast on Tuesday. The Silver Hawks came out on top against the Knights by a score of 6-1. That looming 6-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Silver Hawks yet this season.

Samuel Jaynes tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Lincoln Southwest's victory was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Jackson, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Luke Mitchell was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Lincoln Southwest and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Lincoln Southeast, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
