Baseball Recap: Midd-West Comes Up Short

Midd-West lost against Danville back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mustangs lost 16-3 to the Ironmen. The Mustangs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Midd-West saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braxton Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Kyle Shupp also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Midd-West's record now sits at 1-4. As for Danville, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Midd-West is set to challenge their familiar foe Central Columbia at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Danville will face off against rival Mount Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
