Central Catholic waltzed into their contest on Thursday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the TMI-Episcopal Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on Tuesday.

Dionicio Perez looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

On the hitting side, Matt McClenan and Jake Hernandez did most of the damage at the plate: McClenan got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base, while Hernandez went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Those two runs gave McClenan a new career-high.

Central Catholic pushed their record up to 23-5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for TMI-Episcopal, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Central Catholic will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Cornerstone Christian at 4:30 p.m. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Buttons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. TMI-Episcopal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
