With a playoff win on the line, Ridgeview rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Sanger Apaches with a sharp 10-1 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Wolf Pack, who have now won nine matches in a row.

Ben Castro made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Ridgeview let Mason Refuerzo and Adrian Sanchez run wild. Refuerzo got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Sanchez went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three runs gave Refuerzo a new career-high. Edwin Hidalgo was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Ridgeview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

Ridgeview's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Sanger, they moved to 20-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Ridgeview will take on Kingsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Wolf Pack's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Sanger does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
