Football Game Preview: Gordo Green Wave vs. Phil Campbell Bobcats + Official Tickets

The Gordo Green Wave will head out on the road to square off against the Phil Campbell Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Gordo blew Vinemont out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Vinemont got their revenge. The Green Wave fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 22-19. The matchup marked the Green Wave's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Gordo might have lost, but man, Ryder Robertson was a machine: he rushed for 172 yards and a pair of TDs.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Phil Campbell). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 56-12 victory over Carbon Hill. The Bobcats have beaten the Bulldogs the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bulldogs has come to flipping the script.

Phil Campbell found their leader in sophomore Braxton Downey, who rushed for 58 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gordo fell to 6-1. As for Phil Campbell, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Gordo against Phil Campbell in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-12 win. In that game, the Green Wave amassed a halftime lead of 31-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
