Baseball Recap: Cardinal Hayes Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Cardinal Hayes's offense. They came up short against the St. Raymond Boys Ravens on Monday, falling 10-0. The Cardinals' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Cardinal Hayes got a good showing from Elian Carrasco, who struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off three hits. Carrasco has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cardinal Hayes saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Hernandez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Cardinal Hayes' defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for St. Raymond Boys, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
