Preview: Andrews Yellowjackets vs. Marion Swamp Foxes
Andrews is 0-10 against Marion since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Andrews Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Marion Swamp Foxes at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Andrews can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Lee Central by a score of 38-31. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but Andrews was the better team in the second half.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Andrews to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vincent Rhue, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Dayevon McNair, who scored four points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Marion was able to grind out a solid victory over Kingstree on Thursday, taking the game 62-52. Given Marion's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Kingstree is ranked 127th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Andrews' victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Marion, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.
