Christ Presbyterian Academy skates past University School of Jackson with ease

Recap: Christ Presbyterian Academy Lions vs. University School of Jackson Bruins

The Christ Presbyterian Academy Lions had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed by University School of Jackson at home to the tune of 48-11. The win was familiar territory for Christ Presbyterian Academy who now have ten in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Josh Mayernick, who rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Jackson Mathews also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Christ Presbyterian Academy's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.1 points per game. As for University School of Jackson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ Presbyterian Academy will stay at home for another week and welcome Franklin Road Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Franklin Road Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. University School of Jackson will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Chattanooga Christian at 7:07 p.m. on December 11th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Chattanooga Christian is ranked 103rd, while University School of Jackson is ranked 113th).
