Basketball Recap: Coronado Takes a Loss

Coronado lost against Lubbock-Cooper back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Coronado Mustangs took a 74-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while the Pirates are ranked 294th).

Coronado dropped their record down to 7-17 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lubbock-Cooper, they moved to 12-10 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Coronado will challenge Palo Duro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lubbock-Cooper, they will face off against Plainview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lubbock-Cooper is facing Plainview at the right time seeing as Plainview is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
