Basketball Recap: Show Low Starts Season with Victory Against Page

Show Low gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Page Sand Devils, sneaking past 60-58. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 70-62 loss the last time these two teams met.

Defeat or not, Page got some senior leadership from Joey Benally and Max Reid. Benally posted 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Reid dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Noah Reid was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Looking ahead, Show Low will challenge Payson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Page, they will head out to challenge Kirtland Central at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
