Soccer Recap: Westchester Country Day Takes a Loss

Westchester Country Day was the 10-3 winner over The Burlington School when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Westchester Country Day Wildcats came up short against The Burlington School Spartans on Thursday, falling 8-0. Westchester Country Day fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Spartans since on Thursday.

This is the second loss in a row for Westchester Country Day and nudges their season record down to 0-2. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 5-0 Caldwell Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 85.7% over those games). As for The Burlington School, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Westchester Country Day challenge High Point Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on March 20th. As for The Burlington School, they will square off against Caldwell Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Burlington School has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 27 goals over their last three matchups.
