Dawson entered their tilt with Manvel on Friday with 15 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 16. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Mavericks. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since August 29th.

Dawson had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 17-25, 25-16, 25-16, 15-9.

Avery Koonsen paced Dawson's offense, picking up 24 kills. Koonsen got some help from Taylor Ranney and her 29 assists. Jenna Hussein controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Manvel's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Hayden Urban, who had 11 assists and eight digs, and Sami Guikema, who had eight digs and two aces. Guikema is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Amaria Lopez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Dawson's victory bumped their record up to 36-4. As for Manvel, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 28-11 record.

Dawson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Friendswood on the 27th. As for Manvel, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Shadow Creek on the 27th.
