Soccer Game Preview: Columbus vs. Gompers

The Columbus Sharks will take on the Gompers Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Columbus knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Gompers likes a good challenge.

Columbus barely beat Tuitt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sharks never let the Panthers get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Friday. Fans of Columbus have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

Meanwhile, Gompers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Truman. While losing is never fun, Gompers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Truman are ranked 96th).

Columbus' win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Gompers, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-1.
