Basketball Recap: Kennedy Eagles vs. Waterbury Career Academy Spartans

If Kennedy was riding high fresh off their 37-17 takedown of Abbott RVT last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kennedy Eagles took a 52-34 bruising from the Waterbury Career Academy Spartans on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-22 back in January.

Waterbury Career Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sierra Brown led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Malinna Figueroa, who posted 12 points along with five assists and four steals.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Waterbury Career Academy, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
