Baseball Game Preview: St. Paul Central Minutemen vs. Johnson Governors

For the second straight game, St. Paul Central will face off against Johnson. The Minutemen will be playing at home against the Governors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Last Monday, St. Paul Central got the win against Johnson by a conclusive 11-4. The Minutemen haven't had any issues with the Governors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Billy Vander Aarde was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cooper Entenman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Sam Henrickson, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI.

The win got St. Paul Central back to even at 1-1. As for Johnson, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Everything went St. Paul Central's way against Johnson in their previous matchup on Monday, as St. Paul Central made off with an 11-4 victory. Will the Minutemen repeat their success, or do the Governors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
