Miller Place put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Islip Buccaneers 11-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 18-1 on April 1st.
Ava Zicchinelli spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Miller Place got a massive performance out of Breya Kesler, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Kesler is crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Delaney Schleider, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Miller Place lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
