Baseball Recap: Forge Christian Beats Colorado Academy for Their 12th Straight Victory

Forge Christian faced Colorado Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Fury had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 5-3. Five seems to be a good number for the Fury as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Burke Jasa spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Easton Wilde, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben McLean, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win (which was Forge Christian's 12th in a row) raised their record to 16-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Colorado Academy, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forge Christian will welcome Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Colorado Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Resurrection Christian at 1:00 p.m.
