Softball Recap: Greenfield Takes a Loss

Greenfield extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 5-8 in the process. They came up short against the New Berlin Eisenhower Lions, falling 13-2. The Hustlin' Hawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lions from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for New Berlin Eisenhower, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The result was nothing new for New Berlin Eisenhower, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For New Berlin Eisenhower's part, Mya Ender made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Ender was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Jayda Karls was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lexi Mainville, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenfield will welcome Catholic Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Berlin Eisenhower, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Greendale at 4:30 p.m. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.25 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
