Football Game Preview: Leo Lions vs. DeKalb Barons

Leo is a perfect 10-0 against DeKalb since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lions will face off against the Barons at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Leo comes in on three and DeKalb on four.

Leo lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Columbia City, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Lions blew past the Eagles 30-7 on Friday. The Lions pushed the score to 30-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Paul Woods was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 59 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Those 59 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Leo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bo Swartz and Gavin Treesh.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask DeKalb). They claimed a resounding 55-0 win over Bellmont. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Barons with their most commanding win of the season.

Leo's record is now 7-1. As for DeKalb, their record now sits at 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Leo against DeKalb in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 37-6 victory. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Barons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
