Football Recap: Lynn Classical Rams vs. Cathedral Panthers
Lynn Classical was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Cathedral Panthers and fell 43-14.
Despite the loss, Lynn Classical still got an impressive performance from Charles Washington, who rushed for 90 yards and one TD on only six carries.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cathedral to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Roman, who threw for 283 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Those 283 passing yards gave Roman a new career-high. Cathedral's leading receiver Taqaire Bell was Roman's top target yet again, picking up 103 receiving yards and four TDs.
Lynn Classical's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cathedral, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.
Lynn Classical has already played their next matchup, a 13-8 win against Malden on the 4th. As for Cathedral, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 49-6 victory against Cardinal Spellman on the 3rd.
