The Canby Cougars will face off against the Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Canby is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.
On Wednesday, it was close, but Canby sidestepped La Salle for a 4-3 win.

Alli Hayzlett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Abigail Troutman was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Madi Bigej was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Parkrose 10-9. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Sage Nuckols was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 7.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Nuckols was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those six stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keara Neel, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Brown, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run.
Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Canby's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts, their win bumped their record up to 6-15.
Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Canby has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits.
