            Volleyball Recap: Independence Patriots vs. North Mecklenburg Vikings        
        
		
        
        
            
Independence lost against North Mecklenburg last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Wednesday. The Patriots took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Vikings  25-19 in the first  set.
 Independence started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-15, 25-16,  25-14.
 North Mecklenburg was led to victory by  Alejandra Lorenzana and  Azara Warris.  Lorenzana  had seven  digs and six  assists, while  Warris  had four  aces and three  digs. That's the most assists  Lorenzana has posted since back in September.
Independence's loss  ended  a  four-match streak of away wins  and  brought them to 13-6. As for North Mecklenburg, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record  this season.
 Independence will be playing in front of their home fans against McDowell  at 7:00  p.m.  on Saturday. North Mecklenburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
