Softball Recap: Manvel Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Manvel had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes as they made off with a 19-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Karsyn Carrier, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Carley Williams was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Manvel hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive games.

Manvel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Fort Bend Hightower, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 18-7-2.

As of now, neither Manvel nor the Hurricanes have any future games scheduled.
